Wag N Train Rescue

 Dachshund * Adult * Female * Small

Rita Hayworth is a five year old, red double dapple, smooth Dachshund, weighing about 9 lbs. She was used as a breeder at a commercial breeding facility. Since coming into rescue Rita had FHO surgery (hip surgery) to correct a previous injury that didn’t heal properly. She continues to do rehab and learn how to walk on a leash. She is doing well with her potty etiquette and kennel training. Rita is a happy girl and enjoys spending time with the other dogs in her foster home. They give her comfort and help Rita learn the joys of being a loved dog. She is timid and bashful around people, yet she craves the attention. Even so, Rita especially likes to be around her foster mom, if not in her lap or right next her on the couch then at least in the same room. When the weather is nice and the snow is gone she has fun running around the yard and exploring so a secure fence is necessary. Rita Hayworth's a sweet thing with plenty of spunk, simply looking for a gentle loving family to call her own. Rita will need a home with resident dog and a fenced yard.  No children under the age of 8.

Suggested adoption donation for Rita is a minimum of $300 and goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our rescue dogs. Wag N Train Terrier Rescue adopts only to people living in states neighboring Nebraska and requires the adopter to travel to Omaha, NE to pick up their newly adopted dog. We do not transport or fly our rescue dogs. A securely fenced yard is necessary to adopt one of our terriers. Please note: invisible or underground fencing is not considered secure or appropriate containment for terriers.
