Wag N Train Rescue

Piebald Wirehair Dachshund * Young * Male * Small

Meet Woody

Woody is a 1 yr old black and white piebald wirehair dachshund. He came from the commercial breeding industry so he can be a little timid and skittish at first, but once he settles in, he's all puppy. He's a ball of energy that loves to run, kill squeakies, de-stuff stuffies, play with other dogs and just have fun.

Woody loves other small dogs and pesters them to play. He will do best in an active home with a playful dog that can help him burn off some of that puppy energy. He has a sweet side, too and loves belly rubs, snuggles and giving lots of kisses.

Woody is a ladies man He tends to be more receptive and trusting of women and more anxious around men. We're not sure if that's all men, or just certain men that remind him of his past in the breeding facility. More socialization will help Woody learn to trust more. A basic positive reinforcement training class would help Woody channel his energy and fears in a positive way.

Woody is doing well on both potty training and crate training. He will need a resident dog in the home and a securely fenced yard.

The adoption donation for Woody is a minimum of $400 and goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our rescue dogs. Wag N Train Terrier Rescue adopts to other geographical areas as long as we can find a local volunteer to perform the courtesy home visit, and requires the adopter to travel to Omaha, NE to pick up their newly adopted dog. We do not arrange transport, or fly our rescue dogs without a "pet nanny". A securely fenced yard is necessary to adopt one of our terriers. Please note: invisible or underground fencing is not considered secure or appropriate containment for terriers.Adoption applications can be found at www.wagntrainterrierrescue.com/adoption-information
