Meet Ruza

Ruza is an adorable, sweet, smooth red dachshund, born May 13, 2018. She has a "wobble walk" because she was born with Lumbosacral instability and curved tibias. Even though her joints are developed as expected for a dog her age, Ruza cannot do stairs and will always have a distinctive gait.

Although she’s not into rambunctious play, Ruza is an active pup. She enjoys exploring outside, chasing moths, butterflies, leaves and crickets. Her favorite toys are balls, empty toilet paper tubes, rope toys and shoes. Ruza likes cuddling with her older foster dogs but would really appreciate a young dog sibling who will play with her. She is not a walk-able dog and will need a securely fenced yard for her safety.
Ruza is used to being kenneled when left alone. She is working on potty training, but is slow at grasping the concept. She gets along well with other small dogs but is unsure about bigger dogs. Ruza is an independent girl who takes a little time to warm up to people. Once she trusts you, she is a love. Being timid, she will do best with dog savvy children, 8 years and over, that understand how to handle a shy dog. Ruza is a special little girl that needs to find that special family to match.

Suggested adoption donation for Ruza is a minimum of $400 and goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our rescue dogs. Wag N Train Terrier Rescue adopts to other geographical areas as long as we can find a local volunteer to perform the courtesy home visit, and requires the adopter to travel to Omaha, NE to pick up their newly adopted dog. We do not arrange transport, or fly our rescue dogs without a "pet nanny". A securely fenced yard is necessary to adopt one of our terriers. Please note: invisible or underground fencing is not considered secure or appropriate containment for terriers.
