Meet Hazel

Hazel is a 5 year old chocolate double dapple female dachshund recently released from a commercial breeding facility. Hazel has the trademark blue double dapple eyes.  We're not sure yet if Hazel has any impairments to sight or vision, but she gets around well in her foster home and doesn't appear to have any issues.  Hazel's vet says her eyes dilate normally.

Although Hazel is still timid around new people, she is learning life outside the commercial breeding facility is awesome.  She enjoys cuddling with her foster mama and siblings.  It takes a little time to build trust, but once it's there, she enjoys the attention. Hazel is working on potty training and does well in a crate. Hazel will need a securely fenced yard and a resident dog in her forever home.

The suggested adoption donation for Hazel is a minimum of $400and goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our rescue dogs. Wag N Train Terrier Rescue adopts to other geographical areas as long as we can find a local volunteer to perform the courtesy home visit, and requires the adopter to travel to Omaha, NE to pick up their newly adopted dog. We do not arrange transport, or fly our rescue dogs without a "pet nanny". A securely fenced yard is necessary to adopt one of our terriers. Please note: invisible or underground fencing is not considered secure or appropriate containment for terriers.
