Meet Wendy: A Sweet Westie Learning to Enjoy Life as a Beloved Companion

***Wendy is a gentle 4-year-old purebred Westie who is shy at first, but opening up more every day.***

Wendy is a 4-year-old purebred West Highland White Terrier recently released from a commercial breeder. She is beginning to learn what it means to be loved, safe, and part of a family.

Wendy can be a little shy, but she is making progress every day in her foster home. She enjoys the company of other dogs, sleeps quietly in her kennel at night, likes snuggling into soft dog beds, and is beginning to discover how much fun toys can be.

What Makes Wendy Special:
Wendy has a gentle, affectionate, curious, and quiet personality. She is not a bold or pushy girl; she is a tender-hearted Westie who needs time, patience, and reassurance as she continues building confidence. Watching her relax, trust, and discover the comforts of home is very rewarding.

What Wendy Needs:
Because of her background and because she is not yet confident on leash, Wendy requires a securely fenced yard. She also needs a resident dog in her adoptive home to serve as a role model and help her learn appropriate pet dog behavior.

The Right Home for Wendy:
• Resident dog required
• Securely fenced yard required
• Adult-only home preferred, or a family with dog-savvy children over age 8
• Calm, structured environment
• Patient adopter who understands shy breeder-release dogs
• Willingness to continue confidence-building, routine, and positive reinforcement

Wendy is ready for a forever family that will give her the time and support she needs to continue blossoming. She has so much love to give and will do best with a patient family who understands that trust is built gently, one day at a time.
